  • What is IT staff augmentation?

    IT staff augmentation is a hiring model in which a company brings in external software engineers, designers, or QA specialists to work as part of its in-house team for a defined period. The augmented engineers report to the client’s managers, follow the client’s processes, and stay on the client’s payroll only logically. At the same time, legal employment, taxes, and HR remain with the augmentation provider.

    The price covers the engineer’s salary, benefits, equipment, office, taxes, recruitment, and account management, with no additional setup or onboarding fees. The exact rate depends on seniority, specialization, and engagement length; rates drop for 6+ month contracts. Send the role mix, and we will return with a fully loaded monthly cost within one business day.

  • How do you vet and screen developers?

    Every candidate goes through a four-stage screening before reaching the client, including:

    1. CV and background verification
    2. a technical assessment with live coding and system-design tasks
    3. an English communication check at a minimum B2 level,
    4. a culture-fit interview with the assigned account manager

    Roughly 4% of applicants pass all four stages. As a result, the client receives only pre-vetted CVs and runs the final interview.

  • How quickly can you provide developers for my project?

    Devox Software places vetted engineers within 7-10 business days of agreeing on the role profile. We usually fill mid-level web, mobile, and QA roles in under 7 days, while senior, lead, AI/ML, or niche-stack roles need more time, around 10 days.

    If we cannot match the requirement directly from our internal bench, we open a targeted recruitment cycle and confirm a delivery date upfront.

  • Can I interview and approve each team member before they join?

    Yes. The client interviews and approves every engineer before they join the team. We send 2-3 pre-screened CVs per role, and the client schedules a 60-minute technical and culture interview. As a result, the onboarding starts only for the candidates chosen by the client. There is no fee for interviewing or rejecting candidates.

  • What is the typical onboarding process for augmented team members?

    Onboarding takes under 3 business days and follows a fixed checklist:

    1. NDA and contract signing
    2. access provisioning to the client’s repos, ticketing system, and communication tools
    3. a kick-off call with the client’s tech lead
    4. a documented ramp-up plan for the first sprint

    By day three, the engineer commits code according to the client’s coding standards and CI rules.

  • Who owns the code, IP, and deliverables?

    The client owns 100% of the source code, documentation, design files, and intellectual property produced during the engagement. IP transfer is signed at the contract level (master services agreement) and reaffirmed in each engineer’s individual NDA. Devox Software retains no rights to reuse client code, even in an anonymized form.

  • How do you handle data security and compliance?

    Devox Software operates under ISO 27001-aligned security policies. This way, before any access is granted, project-specific NDAs and DPAs are signed.

    Engineers work from controlled office or home environments with full-disk encryption, MFA, and centrally managed endpoints. We support client-led requirements for SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS contexts, including isolated dev environments, restricted data access, and audit logging on request.

  • What engagement models do you offer (onshore, nearshore, offshore)?

    Devox Software delivers from three regions: 

    • nearshore for EU clients (Poland, Romania, Ukraine, with CET overlap)
    • nearshore for North American clients (Latin American delivery centers have a 4-8 hour daily overlap with US time zones)
    • offshore (Eastern Europe 4-hour overlap with US East Coast)

    The same vetting, contract, and SLA apply across all regions; only the rate and time zone overlap change.

  • What happens if a developer does not meet expectations?

    If a developer does not meet the agreed performance bar, Devox Software replaces them within 10 business days at no additional cost. The first two weeks of any new engagement are a no-questions-asked trial period. If the fit is wrong, the client is not charged for the unused time. Performance is reviewed jointly every two weeks against pre-defined KPIs (sprint velocity, code review feedback, and communication).

  • Can I scale the team up or down during the project?

    Yes. Adding engineers takes 7-10 days using the same screening process. Reducing the team requires a 30-day notice per engineer rolled off, with no penalty fees and no minimum contract length beyond that notice period. There is no cap on how many times the team can scale during a single engagement.
